Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to assist Generations Federal Credit Union to live out its Mission, Do the Right Thing, by providing remarkable service to both external members and internal members. In addition, performs a variety of confidential administrative duties requiring a thorough knowledge of Human Resources.

Primary Duties

1. Provides administrative support to the Human Resources Department to include:

 

  • Maintains current and terminated employee files (electronic and hard copy) to ensure compliance with applicable laws and all documentation is accurate.
  • Answer inquiries about employee files and provides information to authorized persons.
  • Inputs and updates employee information into various systems.
  • Provides routine employment verifications for former and current employees.
  • Maintains and updates company's intranet site in regards to Employee Handbook and HR Departmental Procedures, and all HR related forms and documents.
  • Orders items for employees for special occasions.

2. Assists with the recruitment process to include scheduling interviews, conducting background checks and preparing candidate packets for approval.

 

3. Assists with the preparation for New Hire Orientation/Onboarding.

 

4. Assists with Human Resources sponsored employee and company events.

 

5. Assists with monthly and/or annual Open Enrollment for benefits.


6. Assists with Employee Wellness Program.

 

7. Provides back-support to the Front Desk Receptionist.


8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

A Bachelor's Degree or currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources Management.

Skills

Must have the following skills and/or abilities:

  • Knowledge of Human Resources regulations.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize within a multi-tasked environment. 
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written). 

Physical/Other Requirements

Must be able to:

  • Stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • Lift 10-20 lbs. of boxes, files, or other types of materials.
  • Climb, stoop, and/or kneel while retrieving/filing records or other tasks.
  • Possess a high level of professionalism when dealing with challenging and confidential situations.
  • Travel to off-site events.
  • Work Monday – Friday, 12-25 hours per week.

The Human Resources intern is not guaranteed a job at the conclusion of the internship.
