Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to assist Generations Federal Credit Union to live out its Mission, Do the Right Thing, by providing remarkable service to both external members and internal members. Performs a variety of routine daily transactions for members taking every opportunity to uncover additional needs and refer members to our Member Specialists.

Primary Duties

  1. Performs a variety of routine daily transactions for members while representing GFCU on the teller line. Takes every opportunity to uncover additional needs and refer members to our Member Specialists. Delivers an exceptional member experience with every interaction.

  2. Serves as a member advocate and delivers balanced judgment and recommendations when necessary.Asks the appropriate questions to support member requests and to support any exception requests for leadership team.

  3. Takes on other operational tasks as assigned by leadership team.

  4. Understands policy and procedures that pertains to all teller activities and operational controls. Applies those basic understandings to all duties and transactions involving branch operations and members.

  5. Understands and is able to speak to our members about the basics regarding products and services. Brings in support from the branch leadership team as necessary.Executes transactions flawlessly and makes referrals to Member Specialist as appropriate.

  6. Understands and adheres to all policy and procedures. Asks for support when needed.Keeps updated on changes and takes ownership to understand and implement any changes when performing daily tasks and duties.

  7. Leads by example by supporting the corporate mission, our cultural values and a diverse and inclusive environment. Escalates concerns and shares thoughts and ideas with the Retail Sales Manager, Retail Support team and Senior Leaders.

  8. Accountable for meeting and/or exceeding all components on individual scorecard (both metrics and behaviors) and contributes to achieving branch goals/targets including any special campaigns or initiatives.

  9. Helps support opening and closing of branch duties as necessary.

  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
Must have a High School diploma or equivalency.

Experience

Must have 6 months of financial institution and/or retail sales experience.  Must have 6 months of heavy cash handling experience and be extremely accurate with all transactions. Teller experience preferred. 

Skills

Must have the following skills and/or abilities:

  1. Must have an outgoing, sales-oriented personality.

  2. Must be customer service oriented, and must be able to work well under pressure.

  3. Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.

  4. Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).

  5. Fluent in Spanish, preferred.

Special Requirements

Must be flexible in work schedule to include Saturdays and to rotate within branch network.

Physical/Other Requirements

Must be able to:

  • Stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • Lift 50 lbs.
  • Climb, stoop, and/or kneel.
